Tour details

This flat island, considered an ancient uplifted seabed, is known for its arid landscape surrounded by palo santo, cactus and sesuvium, creating a unique setting to see nature at its purest.

The North Seymour Island is one of the main nesting sites for coastal birds. Here you can see up close the blue-footed boobies, famous for their courtship dance, the majestic frigatebirds inflating their red chests during mating season, as well as gulls, pelicans and other seabirds. On land, the island is home to endemic marine iguanas and land iguanas , plus large colonies of sea lions resting on the rocky beaches.

The trip begins with a boat ride of about 40 minutes from the Itabaca Channel, north of Santa Cruz Island, passing by Baltra Island (South Seymour). On the guided walk at North Seymour you'll follow lava and sand trails where wildlife lives in harmony, offering unique photo opportunities.
